YBR donated 850 sets of Nuri books to Kemas Selangor

PETALING JAYA: Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) donated 850 sets of children’s books to the Selangor Community Development Department (Kemas) as reading resources.

Its General Manager, Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani said, the initiative aims to foster the spirit of reading among the target group thus further empowering the country’s education sector,

He said, YBR understands the difficulties faced and will continue to try to identify more groups that need help to reduce the burden they bear.

“This is one of YBR’s efforts to contribute to the community and it is hoped that the books will not only benefit the children at JKM, but will also be used as teaching material by the teachers.

“Initiatives like this are part of the category of asnaf fisabilillah which is jihad with hands, energy, wealth and words when YBR focuses through education and learning assistance,” he said in a statement here today.

Earlier, he presented the donation of the reading materials to Selangor Kemas Director, Mohd. Ali Hanafiah Abu Hassan.

Also present was the Head of the YBR Operations Division, Mohd. Mukhti Abd. Rahman

So farYBR spent as much as RM900,000 to help the less fortunate in line with improving the socio-economic well-being of the recipients through educational development, community empowerment and healthcare assistance.

Meanwhile, Syaiful Rizal said that the production of the book titled Nuri is quite special because it is a continuation of the Nuri animation series developed by Diploma of Skills students under the sponsorship of YBR.

He said, the book which revolves around the story of Siti’s friendship with her pet bird, Nuri, also has many noble values ​​including infused with learning elements such as science, nature and the culture of saving. – MESSENGER
