PALEMBANG: Residents in Jalan Natuna, Ilir Barat I, Palembang, South Sumatra were shocked by the incident of a woman carrying hundreds of live bullets stored in a rice cooker.
Palembang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Ilir Barat I, Apriansyah said, the suspect was arrested by another rider after feeling suspicious while riding a motorcycle, last Monday.
He said, the rider approached CH’s motorcycle and opened the pot of rice that the woman had brought.
“After it was opened, the atmosphere turned chaotic after hundreds of live bullets were found stored in a rice cooker.
“After counting, there were 135 nine-millimeter caliber bullets,” he reported Compass.com.
The woman known as CH, 47, was finally detained by the Palembang police for questioning regarding the possession of hundreds of bullets.
According to Apriansyah, the inspection found that the hundreds of bullets belonged to CH’s husband who died two years ago.
He explained that CH admitted carrying the bullet because he was waiting for his husband and his family.
“We suspect this woman is under pressure because during the interrogation session, her answers are a lot of nonsense.
“Talking about waiting for my husband when he is dead. The bullet belongs to her husband who is a businessman,” she said.
It is understood that since losing her husband, CH has been living alone in Sukarame, Palembang.
According to her neighbor’s testimony, the woman often took sedatives due to depression after her husband’s death.
“We have searched CH’s house, there are no other suspicious items,” he said.
Apriansyah decided that CH was not a terrorist member who would launch an attack in a certain location because he did not find any objects related to a terrorist organization.
