KUALA LUMPUR: “This is our home, our home, only victory becomes the prey of the Malayan Tiger. We will never allow outsiders to arbitrarily enter our home.”
That’s the spirit that Harimau Malaya captain Faisal Halim gave to all the national players ahead of the ‘life and death’ meeting against Singapore in the final action of Group B, the AFF Cup at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil tonight.
He stressed that the spirit and emotions of Kim Pan Gon’s men have already recovered after losing in the controversial action against Vietnam, last Tuesday.
They are ready to attack, look for goals and hunt for victory because they are aware that a draw or a loss will eliminate Malaysia from the ‘Southeast Asia World Cup’.
“I don’t deny that we were disappointed after the defeat but after a few days our emotions improved and we are now back to playing for the national team,” he said.

Faisal said, after more than a month together and willing not to take a vacation for the sake of Malaysia, he and his teammates only promised an interesting performance in front of the fans.
“As footballers, we are always ready to be called by the national squad, we are united for Malaysia.
“Although some of us are representing Malaysia for the first time but with the help of coach Kim Pan Gon, they can now adapt to the team.
“We will follow the coach’s plan and we only want victory,” he stressed.
Taking the example of the match against Turkmenistan in international action, recently, Faisal expressed confidence that Harimau Malaya will be able to repeat the good performance against Singapore.
