UMNO will rise again if it comes back with Islam, PAS

PETALING JAYA: UMNO not only needs to return to Islam, but must choose PAS as a cooperation partner if it wants to rise again after a heavy defeat in the 15th General Election (GE15) which saw the party only win 27 seats.

Central PAS Working Committee member, Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz said, the drama of UMNO’s second defeat was caused by the party’s own attitude due to internal divisions and the confusion of the power struggle and competition of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has dimmed the efforts to strengthen the spirit of Islam within UMNO .

Therefore, he insisted, the problem should be cured and given a cure with UMNO should be with PAS which is ahead of other parties in its commitment to Islam.

“When you repent and want to improve yourself, you need to be with a good friend. The patient must be with the doctor. If only with a patient like him, they will complain to each other and despair. If he is with an all-knowing shaman, he will be given a poisonous antidote, die. Therefore UMNO must be with PAS.

“Even UMNO must return to Islam. Misfortune is a mild punishment, a lesson, a path to repentance and more powerfully, an elevation. The only severe punishment is death. UMNO suffered a disaster in GE14, but did not die. Thus it is a lesson and a path of repentance that needs to be followed.

“Actually, UMNO has shown determination in that direction and has already made amendments in their party constitution that put Islam in the first place. “Unfortunately, the internal division, the confusion of the power struggle in the government after GE14 as well as the competition with the Bersatu party have dimmed the efforts to strengthen the spirit of Islam in UMNO,” he said on his Facebook today.

Nik Mohamad Abduh said, in fact, UMNO had initiated cooperation with PAS in the National Consensus (MN), unfortunately the continuous misunderstanding that failed to be resolved had dimmed the relationship between the two.

“UMNO is still two groups. Whichever group will lead later, I consistently invite them to join PAS in building the nation. Among my taboos, meddling in people’s internal affairs.

“All misunderstandings can be resolved. The great victory is not achieved by killing, but by reconciliation. Isn’t that ‘Fathu Makkah’? The politics of the country has revealed various oddities. It means nothing is impossible in politics. Let the loud mouth chat. Don’t have a puffy face,” he said.

Earlier, he explained the two factors of BN losing the GE which is a brand that is too old, dull and lacks a touch of renewal compared to Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) which are younger, new and attractive and therefore more powerful in attracting new voters and internal divisions are not treated.

“Both of the above factors are sunnah and God’s rules in the ups and downs of human life,” he said. – MESSENGER
