SUNGAI BULOH: Sungai Buloh Parliamentarian R. Sivarasa described UMNO as a cancer in the country and the voters of the seat should reject Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Khairy Jamaluddin in the 15th General Election (GE15) this Saturday.
According to Sivarasa, Khairy is also part of the cancer even though he expressed his desire to reform UMNO.
“I ask everyone to vote this Saturday to ensure that UMNO cannot rule Putrajaya (because) UMNO is the cancer of this country and why we have to reject Khairy is because he represents that cancer.
“If you vote for Khairy, you vote for (Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad) Zahid Hamidi as Prime Minister and that is what you are doing, you are voting to put UMNO back in Putrajaya,” he said when speaking at the PH Bukit Rahman Putra Mega Talk, at Gelanggang Basketball, Bukit Rahman Putra, here, last night.
Sivarasa also sneered at Khairy’s use of the word reform in his speech when he announced to bring changes in UMNO.
“Just yesterday he learned the language of reformers, we have started in 1998 until now, there are old reformers and new reformers.
“This is us, it’s not like he just learned ‘oh I’m a reformist’ so now we know who is a hypocrite and who will really bring change,” he said.
Earlier, Sivarasa spent time helping PH candidate for Sungai Buloh Parliament, Datuk R. Ramanan in his campaign by attending the Deepavali Joyous Celebration organized by the Subang Welfare Organization, at Dewan Rozel Sec U6, here.
The Sungai Buloh Parliament will witness a seven-way contest involving Khairy (BN), Ramanan (PH), Mohd. Ghazali Md. Hamin (PN), Mohd. Akmal Mohd. Yusof (GTA), Ahmad Jufliz Faiza (PRM) and Nurhaslinda Basri and Syed Abdul Razak Syed Long Alsagof are independent candidates.
In GE14 in the competition in P.107 Sungai Buloh, Sivarasa won 43,631 votes beating Nuridah from PAS who got 16,977 votes, A. Prakash Rao representing BN (16,681) and Zainurizzaman Moharam from PSM (642) – MESSENGER
