Two men involved in a case of housebreaking, theft of the mosque fund were arrested

LIPIS: The police in this district disabled house burglaries, schools, nursery classes and the theft of mosque funds from September to December this year when they arrested two individuals here and Temerloh.

District Police Chief, Superintendent Azli Mohd. Noor said, as a result of information and intelligence, the police made two raids, namely on December 28, at 9.30 pm in Temerloh and last December 29, at 8 am in Chegar Perah here.

According to him, in the two raids the police arrested two men aged 28 and 40 respectively in Taman Temerloh Jaya, Temerloh at a surau in Kampung Chegar Perah.

“As a result of the investigation, the first man was involved in four cases of mosque fund theft, namely three cases in Lipis and one case in Temerloh.

“The second man revealed his involvement in three cases of mosque fund theft, while one case each of house burglary, school break-in, and Tabika break-in was reported from the end of August to the end of December this year,” he said in a statement here today.

According to Azli, for the case involving the theft of mosque fund money, the party started to track down the suspect when it received five reports on December 24 and December 26, following the criminal activities that took place in this district involving the missing amount of RM1,800 in mosque fund money.

“The first suspect actively committed this crime in early December by targeting the mosque on the edge of the main road by pretending to be a traveler who was resting and then broke the mosque’s coffers and stole money between 2 and 4 pm.

“The second suspect has been active since the end of August also targeting mosques, schools and houses near the road by committing crimes from 2 am to 5 am,” he said.

“The urine test of both suspects was positive for the drug morphine, while the second suspect also has a criminal record related to theft and drug crimes,” he said. – MESSENGER
