Trucha can’t wait to train Kelantan United

KOTA BHARU: Former Penang FC manager, Tomas Trucha admits that he can’t wait to coach Kelantan United FC (Kelantan United) in the 2023 Super League after being officially announced as the team’s new head coach last night.

Trucha said, he will start Kelantan United’s first training session on January 4 next along with the tactical pattern that will be applied later.

According to him, the available time will be used as best as possible to form a team to compete in the Super League later.

“However, I need to get to know the players and see the quality in the team first. After that I will discuss with the technical team to set the team’s tactics.

“Regarding communication, I think there is no problem because I have been in Malaysia for two years. In fact, some players from this club have been with me before and they definitely understand what I want and share with my teammates,” he told reporters in a press conference after the Kelantan United Dinner here, yesterday.

The operator from the Czech Republic also said, he is happy and grateful to the club management for giving him the opportunity to continue his service in Malaysia.

“Now I can’t wait to get to know the players, management and technical team of Kelantan United.

“Kelantan United is still a new team in the Super League even though it is five years old and its development will be an interesting challenge for me,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kelantan United President Rozi Muhamad informed that the team will appear with a new face in the 2023 Super League when it will be lined up with 90 percent new faces including imported players.

“Most of the players we have lined up are under 30 years old and until now it can be said that more than 90 percent of the player registration matters have been completed, including the imported players.

“The player lineup is kept secret for now and will be revealed in an official player introduction ceremony in the near future. God willing we will be able to make a surprise next season,” he said.

Rozi said that Kelantan United is considered an ‘underdog’ team and set a more realistic target in the Malaysian League competition next season.

He said that the club’s main target for now is to qualify for the Malaysia Cup competition and it is felt that it is still too early to aim for a top 10 position in the Super League.

“Kelantan United have planned several pre-season friendly matches including against teams from abroad. The development can be followed through the team’s official social media and we hope the supporters come to fill the stadium,” he said. – MESSENGER
