Three NGOs joined forces to repair the motorcycles of flood victims

BESUT: A total of 200 motorcycles belonging to flood victims were repaired by three non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Kampung La, here, today.

The motorcycle involved was damaged due to being submerged in water in the flood incident that started on December 18.

The Coordinator of the Ride Program and Post-Flood Assistance Mission of Kampung La, Hassan Harun said, the three NGOs are Iman Care, Alternative Ride Club (ARC) and Warga Cakna which involve 30 owners of high-powered motorcycles and regular motorcycles around the districts of Kemaman, Dungun, Kuala Terengganu. and Besut district.

According to him, among the services offered to affected motorcycle owners is replacing lubricating oil and spark plugs.

“This initiative is expected to ease the financial burden of the flood victims because most of the residents of this village work as farmers and gardeners who really need motorcycles as their main means of transportation in their daily affairs,” he told reporters here.

In addition to free motorcycle service, the three NGOs also channeled donations of food items to some of the severely affected home owners in the village.

Meanwhile, several motorcycle owners in Kampung La, Rosmalizawati Latif, 37, said that such help is very necessary because the floods this time caused almost 90 percent of the goods in her house to be damaged.

“With a program like this, thank God, I feel moved and relieved, at least I can save expenses,” he said. – MESSENGER
