IPOH: The cunning tactic of the subsidized diesel embezzlement syndicate using palm oil supply tankers to bring the fuel was exposed through a raid on a premises in the Silibin Industrial Area here yesterday.

The raid at around 1pm was carried out based on information and intelligence carried out by the Intelligence Unit of the Perak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

Its director, Saifullizan Kamarul Zaman said, in the operation, a subsidized diesel oil collection center was found where using the modus operandi of regularly and repeatedly filling diesel fuel using a ‘prime mover’ lorry head.

He said the syndicate’s actions were trying to obscure the authorities when filling up at gas stations around Silibin

“Truck head prime mover this will then go to the collection location and transfer the diesel oil from the truck tank to another storage tank using an electric pump.

“The fuel will then be transferred back to a special ‘palm oil supply’ tank to be sent and sold to the industry in the Klang Valley,” he said in his statement here today.

According to him, the result of an inspection of the premises found 6,490 liters of liquid suspected to be diesel oil along with four truck heads prime mover as well as other equipment.

He said, the total value of the total seized was estimated at RM762,615 and all the items had been seized for further investigation.

“The investigation on the premises also found that it had been operating for a month and was suspected of operating without a valid license by the authorities.

“In the operation, five workers including three foreigners were detained for further investigation.

“All syndicate networks, vehicle owners, premises owners and gas stations involved will be investigated under the Supply Control Act 196,” he said. – MESSENGER
