The structuring of MBSA’s top leadership

SHAH ALAM: The local authority (PBT) of this city witnessed the restructuring of leadership when its Deputy Mayor, Mohd. Rashidi Ruslan was transferred to Putrajaya as Senior Private Secretary to the Minister of Economy, Mohd. Rafizi Ramli.

The exchange occurred after the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) witnessed Dr. Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid was sworn in as the new mayor replacing Datuk Zamani Ahmad Mansor with effect from 11 December.

According to Mohd. Rashidi, his appointment to the position as a new challenge by 2023 and is optimistic that the experience of serving for four years at MBSA and other positions will help him.

“I am moved to be trusted to serve the country to help the Minister of Economy after four years here.

“I will use the many valuable experiences I gathered at MBSA to improve the country’s economy together with the minister. It is a big challenge to be in a new place in Putrajaya,” he told reporters after the Setulus Budi Kenangan Abadi ceremony for, today.

The restructuring of the MBSA is seen to be in line with the change of councilors in 12 PBT across the state which witnessed a change of 272 people consisting of representatives of PKR, DAP and Amanah political parties.

According to the Chairman of the Local Government and Public Transport Standing Committee, Ng Sze Han, the appointment of the council members was made through the State Government Meeting Council (MMKN) on December 14 after the 2020-2022 term tomorrow.

In the meantime, Mohd. Rashidi informed that the experience of managing the major flood disaster that occurred in this city on 18 December 2021 is a memory that he will not forget for the rest of his life as a civil servant.

“I will always remember the date of December 18 because apart from it, I started serving as a civil servant in 2006 and on the same date a major flood occurred in this city.

“Therefore, I will not easily forget Shah Alam where I faced the major flood disaster that we have seen in this state on the East Coast happening right in front of our eyes. I really did not think that a flood disaster of this magnitude would happen in this city,” he said. – MESSENGER
