The Prime Minister met Jokowi at Bogor Palace


WEST JAWA: The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is on a two-day visit to Indonesia, was given an official reception at Bogor Palace and welcomed President Joko Widodo.

Anwar’s arrival was followed by 19 cannon shots accompanied by the song Negaraku and Indonesia Raya.

Anwar then inspected the line of honor which consisted of members of the President’s security team and was then introduced by Jokowi to the line of the Cabinet and key Indonesian officials.

He, who was fully bowed, also introduced the Malaysian delegation present at the ceremony.

Anwar continued the event by planting a Merawan tree (Hopea odorata) in the palace grounds.

Riding in a buggy driven by Jokowi himself, the two leaders toured the Bogor Botanical Garden which covers an area of ​​87 hectares and has 15,000 species of trees and plants.

Bogor Botanical Garden is 205 years old, making it the oldest botanical garden in the world.

Bogor Botanical Garden was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Immediately afterwards, President Jokowi held a special meeting in a chat session on the veranda of Bogor Palace, also known as Veranda Talk with the Prime Minister.

It is a tradition introduced by President Jokowi for important national guests who are close to the country.

The official event continued with the two leaders witnessing the submission of the Letter of Interest (LOI) for the participation of Malaysian companies in the Capital of Nusantara (IKN) project by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz to the Chairman of the IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono. – MESSENGER
