PADANG BESAR: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Perlis raided a house suspected of being used as a storage depot for subsidized diesel fuel in an operation carried out here yesterday.
The operation which started at 10 am was carried out following the intelligence of KPDN members for the past two weeks.
Chief Enforcement Officer of the state KPDN, Mohamad Amir Abdullah said, as a result of an inspection of the residential area, it was found that there was a diesel fuel storage depot behind the house.
“Further inspection found that diesel control material was stored in the store.
“Following that, KPDN confiscated diesel liquid with a capacity of around 3,380 litres, drums, jerry cans, intermediate bulk containers (IBC) tanks and oil pumps along with rubber hoses with a total value of RM9,447,” he said.
In the meantime, Mohamad Amir said that through the operation, the KPDN also arrested a local man in his late 20s to help with further investigations into the case.
