The first wave of floods in Terengganu is fully recovered

KUALA TERENGGANU : The first wave of flooding that hit Terengganu has completely recovered after the temporary evacuation center (PPS) of the Kampung La Mosque in Besut near here was officially closed today.

A spokesman for the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said that the PPS which was still operating in the state was previously closed at 10 this morning.

“A total of 22 victims from five families who were at the Kampung La Mosque have returned to their respective homes.

“However, the people of Terengganu need to be prepared for the possibility of the next flood wave coming soon,” he said in a statement today.

This flood that hit all eight districts in Terengganu is considered to be one of the worst in the past 40 years.

More than 41,000 flood-affected residents have been transferred to PPS in eight districts in Terengganu during this flood period. – MESSENGER
