DENGKIL: A teenager died after his motorcycle crashed into a buffalo here, last night.
In the incident at 1.44am on Jalan Dengkil – Air Hitam, the victim identified as Muhammad Jakfar Dani Johari, 16, died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said, at the time of the incident, the victim who was riding a Yamaha Legend motorcycle was on his way home alone in Taman Dengkil Jaya.
He said, the victim is understood to have failed to avoid a buffalo crossing the road.
“The victim’s body was taken to Putrajaya Hospital for the post-mortem process and the case was investigated in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (JPJ) 1987,” he said when contacted today.
He said, the initial investigation found that the victim did not have a valid driver’s license and was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Previously, this newspaper reported the complaints of residents around Dengkil following the presence of cattle and buffaloes without owners, especially on the road which is seen to cause accidents.
Worse, the cattle are left to roam on the road at night causing accidents.
Residents claim that the cows are left unattended and free to move in the Dengkil area, Kampung Ahmad Razali and Jenderam, Dengkil.
