Swollen waist, Orang Asli boarded a helicopter to the hospital


GUA MUSANG: The Air Unit of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) carried out a courtesy flight to bring an Orang Asli woman with swelling in her waist to be sent to Gua Musang Hospital here for further treatment.

JBPM Public Relations Officer, Central Regional Base Subang, Selangor, Deputy Fire Chief II, Mohd. Hasrizal Kamaruzzaman said, a total of three flight crew departed from the airbase at about 10.30am to bring Imping Asot, 30, from Kampung Sau, Pos Bihai who has not been able to walk for the past three days.

According to him, the flight using an Agusta A109 E helicopter landed safely in Kampung Sau at 11.45am.

“The Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa) has made a follow-up application for the land communication road to their village which is badly damaged,” he said in a statement here today.

Mohd. Hasrizal said, the helicopter landed safely at the Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Station at 12.20pm before being rushed to the Gua Musang Hospital using an ambulance.

He said the medical evacuation flight (Medevac) was led by the pilot, Deputy Fire Chief II, Mohd. Faizal Abd. Latif and Assistant Fire Chief, Amir Fitri Salim.-MESSENGER
