Suria FM recorded a record on the air on a cruise ship

GEORGETOWN: Suria FM was recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as the first radio station to broadcast live from the luxury cruise ship Genting Dream, this morning.

Broadcast for two hours through Suria’s Morning Morning segment, three radio presenters namely Ajak, Shuib and Suraya are responsible for handling the segment.

The segment, which was also broadcast on Suria FM’s Facebook, featured singers, Siti Nordiana, Amir Masdi and Andi Bernadee on a cruise ship owned by Resorts World Cruises.

The General Manager of Suria FM, Roslinda Abd Majid, also known as DJ Lin, said this mission was to celebrate their success in jumping to third place as the most popular radio station, thus making a historic achievement over 15 years in the country’s broadcasting industry.

“Alhamdulillah, this is the opening of 2023 which is very meaningful for us in ensuring that the momentum of this station continues to be close to the fans’ hearts.

“Actually, I personally wanted to make history in MBOR since I took up the position of General Manager in 2018. Thankfully, this year was finally achieved thanks to the support of our employees,” he said.

The four-day ocean crossing also brought five lucky winners who won the Suria 15 Years contest during last November and December.
