[RASMI] Darell Leiking failed to defend Penampang

PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate, Datuk Ewon Benedick seized the Penampang parliamentary seat with a majority of 14,410 votes.

The official results saw him defeat the Parti Warisan candidate who is also the seat holder, Datuk Darell Leiking in a four-cornered clash.

Ewon received 29,066 votes while Darell got 14,656 votes. Two other candidates, namely Kenny Chua Teck Ho (Gabungan Rakyat Sabah) and Richard Jimmy (independent) received 6,719 and 289 votes respectively.

The turnout for the seat was 65.70 percent with 50,730 votes counted against 77,214 registered voters. – MESSENGER
