Pothole issue: MBK is advised to cooperate with JKR, JPS

KUANTAN: The Kuantan City Council (MBK) is advised to increase cooperation with government agencies, especially the Public Works Department (JKR) and the Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) to reach the best agreement to solve the problem of potholes which is one of the main issues and complaints of the people in this city.

Chairman of the State Local Government, Housing, Environment and Green Technology Committee, Datuk Seri Johari Harun said, another problem is the broken road lines and street lights which affect the safety of Kuantan citizens at this point.

“Indeed, the quality of daily life of all the people in Pahang has always been my priority as Exco so that the prosperity of the state continues to be guaranteed,” he said in a statement here today.

Johari, who is also a member of the Pelangai State Assembly, said that yesterday he had a working visit to MBK and had a meeting with the management of the local authority (PBT).

He said, the meeting was to see the planning and efforts implemented by MBK in the development of this city.

“During the visit, I was given a detailed explanation by MBK in promoting Kuantan City as a sustainable and comfortable city for all citizens to live in.

“Looking at the latest developments, MBK will increase the number of business areas to develop the local economy and provide income opportunities to the people of Kuantan,” he said. – MESSENGER
