KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) will act as a check and balance in Parliament by bringing the voice of the people in line with the principles of parliamentary democracy.
Explaining the matter, its Chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said, moving forward, PN will continue the struggle for the well-being of the people and the prosperity of the country based on the principles of Caring, Clean and Stable.
Muhyiddin in a statement on Facebook also recorded his congratulations to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who was appointed as the 10th Prime Minister.
“I would like to congratulate YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who has been appointed by His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
“With the Federal Government led by Pakatan Harapan, Perikatan Nasional will play a check and balance role in the Malaysian Parliament by bringing the voice of the people in line with the principles of Parliamentary Democracy.
PN has 73 parliamentary seats and became the opposition party after rejecting the formation of a unity government with Pakatan Harapan.
Earlier, Anwar was also sworn in as the 10th Prime Minister at the Istana Negara.
