One person was arrested in the case of a man who escaped police surveillance and was found dead

IPOH: The police confirmed the cause of death of a man who ran away from police surveillance in front of a house in Taman Klebang Putra, Chemor here yesterday, due to multiple blunt object injuries.

Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd. Yusri Hassan Basri said that the cause of death was obtained as a result of the post-mortem process on the body of a 37-year-old man which was completed at the Forensic Department at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here.

He said the case was classified as a murder case and investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

“In connection with that, a 27-year-old local man has been arrested in Chemor to assist the investigation.

“The remand application for the suspect will be made tomorrow at the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court. “Efforts are being carried out to track down fellow criminals who are still at large,” he said in his statement here today.

According to him, with the arrest of the suspect, the case was successfully resolved within 17 hours after the police report was received.

“The police will complete the investigation and the investigation papers will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for proposed charges,” he said.

The media previously reported that the man, who was unemployed, was found dead in front of his house with various injuries on his body.

The man was found lying and gasping for breath by his brother-in-law who then reported to the police at around 11.28pm.

The incident was initially thought to be an accident after witnesses saw a motorcycle with an unknown model and registration number fleeing the scene.

Based on the review, the deceased was found to be an individual who escaped from police surveillance from Parit Buntar and a police report was made against him under Section 6(3) of the Crime Prevention Act. – MESSENGER
