“Regarding that, we request the public, whether Malacca citizens or tourists, to wear face masks, especially in closed places and public areas.
“We will monitor during these two weeks. If the transmission of cases increases, we will not hesitate to re-enforce the law on wearing face masks.

The increase in Covid-19 cases in China has angered the people of the world after the country that implemented a zero-Covid-19 policy began to loosen restrictions and will reopen its borders on January 8.
In fact, the surge in cases is also feared to trigger a new coronavirus mutation and could be a combination of strains or something completely different.
Earlier, Utusan Malaysia reported, as many as 4,148 cases of Covid-19 were infected with BA.5.2 and three cases were infected with BF.7, equivalent to approximately 80 percent of the variants currently infecting China.
Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the number involved was recorded until December 31, but there is no data that can link the increase in the number of cases of harm or death to the BA.5.2 and BF.1 variants. – MESSENGER
