MANCHESTER: The dream of Manchester United fans to get rid of their owner, the Glazer family is getting closer to reality when the United States (US) tycoon revealed plans to sell the club in the near future.
For more than a decade, supporters have been trying to organize public gatherings as a sign of protest against Glazer’s management of United, and most recently during the English Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, last Wednesday.
The Glazer family has appointed the Raine Group to manage the sale of United and the investment banking firm is now aiming to take full ownership of the team in the first quarter of 2023.

“The Glazer Family will not allow lavish spending on any offer at this time.
“You need to pay attention to this report because it may happen sooner than expected and may be a big moment in the history of the establishment of Manchester United.

“It will be interesting to see who will take over the club and drive them into the future,” explained Orstein.
Raine has offered a price of around 7 to 8 billion pounds (RM37 to 42 billion) as an advance price for the takeover process in an effort to find a suitable candidate.
British chemical technology company tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe had already expressed his desire to the Glazers to buy United before.
However, he still needs help from some other investors.
Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani, who is estimated to have a fortune of around 73 billion pounds (RM 388 billion), is also reported to be interested in becoming part of United. – AGENCIES
