KUANTAN: Two individuals believed to have abused their power in approving the purchase of Koperasi Serbausaha Makmur Berhad (Kosma) shares amounting to RM229,000 were arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday.
Both suspects are believed to have carried out the activity since 2017.
The source informed that the first suspect, a 40-year-old woman, was the financial manager of the cooperative involved.
“The second suspect, a man who is a senior financial executive officer of Kosma, is 49 years old. The suspect was detained yesterday when he appeared to testify,” said the source here today.
The two suspects were brought before the Kuantan Magistrate’s Court here today wearing orange MACC lock-up shirts.
Both suspects are being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
Magistrate Fatinah Abu Bakar, decided to remand the two suspects for six days until January 15 to assist the investigation. – MESSENGER
