Johor is off on Sunday, appreciate JDT supporters

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar is pleased to declare Sunday, November 27 as an event holiday.

His Majesty said, the holiday in question is a follow-up to the success of the Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) team in advancing to the Malaysia Cup final against Selangor, tomorrow.

Johor Government Secretary, Tan Sri Dr. Azmi Rohani said that the holiday was aimed at making it easier for supporters to watch the final and give them the comfort to plan and organize their journey so that they don’t rush and stay safe.

“The declaration of this holiday is in line with Sections 8 and 9, Holidays Act 1951 (Act 369),” he said in a statement, here today.

Meanwhile, Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said that the public holiday was also an appreciation for the strong support that the people of Johor and the staunch supporters of the Southern Tigers squad have always given.

“Congratulations to JDT who have advanced to the finals of the 2022 Malaysia Cup. Together we will attend the Bukit Jalil National Stadium tomorrow to continue to give solid support to the JDT team.

“The Crown Prince of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim is always an inspiration to the young people of Johor and always supports our athletes,” he said in a statement, here today. – MESSENGER
