SHAH ALAM: Shah Alam Parliamentary candidate for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th General Election (GE15), Hizatul Isham Jalil is determined to help the State Assemblyman (ADUN) candidate in the area even though he himself lost last November.
Isham, who is also the new UMNO Head of Information, said that he was determined to help the candidates to win the Kota Anggerik and Batu Tiga areas and was grateful to be able to return with the Shah Alam Division UMNO machinery.
“After GE15 I didn’t have time to rest after campaigning for two weeks. After being appointed on November 20, I continued to work as UMNO’s Head of Information and it was only after five weeks of GE15 that I was able to return here.
“After being appointed as the head of information, I have also gone to several states that will be involved in the State Election (PRN) this year. Selangor or Shah Alam are included in the list,” he said.
He added, despite losing in GE15 and being considered as still in mood disappointed, it is not an obstacle for him to focus on fulfilling his responsibility to return the people’s support to UMNO.
Earlier, UMNO Secretary General, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan confirmed Isham’s appointment as the new UMNO Information Chief effective November 20, replacing Shahril Sufian Hamdan who resigned.
In the meantime, he said he refused to entertain the disappointment of losing in GE15 and was ready to discuss working with Pakatan Harapan (PH) for that purpose.
“What is certain is that the PRN for the three states under Pakatan Harapan (PH) namely Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang will be held first.
“Followed by PRN under Perikatan Nasional (PN), namely Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah. Whatever the situation, we need to be prepared to face any possibility because the state government is involved and can decide when the PRN will be held,” he said. – MESSENGER
