GE15: PAS leaders, speakers release extreme statements

KEMAMAN: PAS leaders and speakers who make extreme statements that affect the party’s image during the 15th General Election (GE15) campaign will be subject to ‘digam’ action.

Pas President, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said that the action was taken immediately to stop statements that attacked the opposing party excessively.

According to him, the party took the approach of providing information and not attacking in the GE15 talks and campaign.

He said that Pas did not compromise on their leaders and speakers who committed the wrongdoing and that the action was in line with the peaceful democracy that Pas had been practicing since time immemorial.

“We monitor all of them because PAS has a policy, to enlighten not to attack. That’s the concept and principle we bring.

“Those of us who take the approach of attacking us ‘glue’, stop the attack,” he said.

He said this to reporters after delivering a speech at the Perikatan Nasional (PN) BEST Grand Finale PRU15 Tour at Padang Astaka Kai here, last night.

Abdul Hadi, who is also the PN Deputy Chairman, said that so far a few leaders and speakers have been identified as being involved in the offence.

“One or two (leader and speaker) only (involved) is not much, too small,” he said.

Earlier, a 28-second campaign video of Pas Sik Youth Leader’s talk, Mohd. Shahiful Mhd. Nasir who claimed that those who voted for Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Harapan (PH) in GE15 will go to hell.
