The 16-year-old suspect was arrested along with two other teenagers and a man, each aged 17 to 30, in a separate raid in Kampung Gual Periok, Rantau Panjang at 11pm to assist in the investigation.

State Police Chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said that before that at 8am all the suspects involved left the car in Kampung Laloh after being surprised to see members of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) conducting operations in the area.

According to him, suspicious of the situation, JPJ members rushed to the location to inspect the vehicle.

“The results of the inspection carried out on the car and the boot have found a white package suspected of drugs.

“The JPJ member on duty then contacted the police before handing over the car containing drugs for further action,” he said at a press conference at the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) here today.
