PETALING JAYA: An elderly man was stabbed to death near a supermarket in Bandar Tun Hussien Onn here, Kajang, yesterday for allegedly having an affair with someone’s wife.

The police received a report about the incident at about 6.30 pm.

Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said, as a result of the initial examination and treatment at Serdang Hospital, it was found that the victim suffered serious injuries due to a stab wound to the right lung in addition to the marks of a sharp object being stabbed on the thigh and right shoulder.

He said the 71-year-old victim was placed in the hospital’s Red Zone Emergency Ward and used a breathing aid before being pronounced dead at about 11.05 this morning.

“The result of information received led to the arrest of a couple in the vicinity of Hospital Serdang and Kuala Lumpur, today.

“The two suspects aged 45 and 51 were arrested by a team of police officers from Branch D9 of the Criminal Investigation Division of IPD Kajang at about 1.30 this morning,” he said in a statement today.

According to Mohd. Zaid, the investigation found that a male suspect admitted to injuring the victim while in the parking area of ​​a supermarket in Bandar Tun Hussien Onn.

He said, the cause of the incident is believed to be because the suspect was angry about the intimate relationship between his wife and the victim.

“At the time of the incident, his wife was alone with the victim in the vehicle at that location.

“Following that, some items were also seized by the police including the victim’s vehicle, four mobile phones, the suspect’s clothes and a receipt for the purchase of knives to help the investigation,” he said.

He added that the two arrested suspects were remanded for seven days to assist the investigation.
