Dealers who make criminal threats are remanded for four days

DUNGUN : A trader was remanded for four days starting today to assist in the investigation regarding a case of criminal threats against police officers, two months ago.

The remand order against the 53-year-old man was issued by Magistrate Noradila Ab. Latif to enable the investigation of the suspect to be carried out in accordance with Section 507 of the Penal Code.

Dungun District Police Chief, Superintendent Baharudin Abdullah said, the suspect was arrested in Bangi, Selangor at about 12 last night.

“The mistake was committed by the suspect who is a local resident about two months ago.

“After a month of trying to track down the suspect, we finally managed to make an arrest,” he said.

Baharudin said, if convicted, the suspect could be jailed for up to two years or fined or both. – MESSENGER
