KULAI: Crying and urinating. That is one of the reactions that can be witnessed by a couple who were arrested for adultery in the 2023 New Year’s Threshold Op that was conducted Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAIJ) in this area, last night.

Add Md. Rofiki, all of them are taken action in accordance with Section 27 (1) of the Syariah Criminal Offenses Enactment (Johor State) 1997 and if found guilty can be fined not more than RM3,000 or imprisoned not more than two years or both.

Throughout the year 2022, his party has carried out a total of 1,692 operations with a total of 655 individuals involved in various sharia crimes have been arrested.

“This operation was carried out throughout Johor with the number of cases found to increase in 2022 compared to 2021.
