Croatia shows the way out for Canada

DOHA : Andrej Kramaric’s two goals and one goal each through Marko Livaja and Lovro Majer showed Croatia’s glorious revival to overcome Canada, 4-1 in the second match of Group F, World Cup 2022, just now.

This victory puts Croatia at the top of the group by sharing four points with Morocco, but they are separated by a goal that is the result of a big win tonight.

In the action that took place at the Khalifa International Stadium, Croatia were surprised by an early goal scored by Alphonso Davies as early as the second minute through a move that yielded results for Canada.

Davies opened the scoring as early as the second minute but failed to help Canada win.

The goal, however, did not weaken the spirit of Croatia, who began to organize a movement to hunt for an equalizing goal.

The fast and attacking style of play displayed by both teams was really entertaining with several attempts almost finding the back of the net.

Croatian striker Andrej Kramaric made sure the match was back in balance when he scored the equalizer in the 36th minute.

Eight minutes later, it was Croatia’s turn to lead Canada through Marko Livaja’s goal which beat Canadian goalkeeper Milan Barjan for the second time.

Not satisfied with one goal, Kramaric continued to prove his finishing skills when he scored the team’s third goal in the 70th minute before substitute Lovro Majer scored the fourth goal in second-half stoppage time.

Men 2018 runners-up Zlatko Dalic will be in action in the final match against Belgium while Morocco face Canada in the final group stage match that will decide the top two teams.

For Canada two games without any points means their journey in the 2022 World Cup is already over even with one game left.-AGENCIES
