Chinese New Year plane ticket prices go up

PETALING JAYA: The increase in transport fares in the run-up to the festive season and school holidays is sure to cause concern for consumers.

That scenario is often seen when there is an increase in the price of domestic airline tickets, which makes consumers accept the offer.

Review Utusan Malaysia through the websites of the two airlines preferred by users on the same date and the same destination for economy class found that there was a difference in fares offered.

The review found that, if a passenger buys a ticket for either a one-way or two-way flight, the ticket price does not show much difference for companies A and B.

For example, the journey for company A from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu is less than three days before Chinese New Year.

During those three days, airline A offers prices as low as RM255 up to RM495.

However, when compared to airline B fares, ticket prices start at RM497.48 and reach RM2,102.32.

The ticket price in the morning is more expensive.

For the trip from Kuala lumpur to Kuching for company A, the fare offered starts at RM168 up to RM505.

But the price for the day before Chinese New Year, the company puts the price at RM168 up to RM335.

For company B, ticket prices start at RM572.71 up to RM1,595.64.

However, for the fares from either Kota Kinabalu and Kuching back to the capital, the prices checked through the websites of the two airlines have decreased slightly.

In addition to the plane ticket, it is estimated that passengers also need to spend about RM100 to RM200 which is an additional charge for their flight. – MESSENGER
