BN MP replaces Bung Moktar as Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) members of parliament are among the new appointees in Sabah State Cabinet.

Member of Parliament for Putatan, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya who was previously the Minister of Development and People’s Welfare has now been appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah.

Shahelmey replaced the position previously held by Sabah BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

He will also hold the portfolio as Minister of Public Works.

The appointment of Shahelmey, who is also a Tanjung Keramat State Assembly Member, follows the reshuffle of the State Cabinet carried out today.

The reshuffle was carried out after Bung Moktar along with 12 other BN assemblymen drew support from Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as Sabah Chief Minister last Friday.-
