BN has never negotiated the form of government with PN

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) never consulted with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to agree to form a joint government with Perikatan Nasional (PN).

BN chairman, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that there has been no consultation with the PN so far that could lead to an understanding to form a government with the coalition in question.

In the meantime, he said, all BN MPs who won GE15 signed an undertaking and mandated him as President to determine any political coalition in the establishment of the government.

“In this regard, any member of Parliament who violates party instructions will result in the removal of party membership, including parliamentary seats, in line with the law prohibiting Ali Dewan Rakyat from changing parties as stipulated under Article 49A of the Federal Constitution,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmad Zahid referred to the statement by the Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg stating the agreement for GPS to work with PN, BN and the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to form a Federal Government under the leadership of PN Chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.-MESSENGER
