CENTRAL JAVA: Residents in the Mijen district in Central Java were surprised by the discovery of a baby that was still alive despite being stung by ants near a famous fishing pond yesterday.
The poor baby was thrown away as soon as it was born because there were still traces of blood and mucus on its head when it was found by the residents.
“His umbilical cord had already been cut when he was found,” explained Chief of Police Majen, Kholid Mawardi.
Kholid explained that the baby was found by two men when they were helping a broken down car in front of the Barokah Sekopek fishing pond.
“While providing help, the two men accidentally saw a baby wrapped in a brown cloth and already surrounded by dozens of fine ants.
“Seeing that the baby was still alive, they hurriedly called the people nearby and immediately made a report to the authorities,” he explained.
The baby was reportedly taken to the community health center in Karangmalang to receive further treatment and the police are still tracking the person responsible for throwing the baby away. -AGENCIES
