Anwar arrived at the Putra Mosque for the 2023 New Year’s Eve Munajat Program


PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the Putra Mosque, here for the 2023 New Year’s Threshold Munajat Program.

He arrived at 6.20pm before being greeted by the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Present with the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail; Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr. Mohd. Na’im Mokhtar and the Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek.

Also participating is the Minister of Health, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa; Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil; Deputy Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Adam Adli Abd. Halim.

Immediately upon arrival, Anwar along with the Cabinet of Ministers first had a meal before performing the Maghrib Prayer.

According to the schedule, Anwar is expected to deliver the 2023 New Year’s Message at 8.00pm which is also broadcast live through RTM.

More than 2,000 pilgrims performed the Maghrib prayer before being followed by the Hajat prayer and the recitation of Yasin.

On December 21, Anwar announced that the New Year’s Eve celebration, which is usually celebrated on December 31, was canceled before being replaced by a munajat program.

It was also implemented to honor the victims of the recent flood disaster, especially in Kelantan and Terengganu.

At the same time as the announcement, several states also canceled the celebration including Selangor and Penang. – MESSENGER
