In a notification issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the government has said that ‘all Aadhaar holders will have to update their identity and residence proof documents with Aadhaar at least once after completing 10 years from the date of enrollment of Aadhaar. With this, the information related to Aadhaar will be updated continuously.
UIDAI has changed the rules
UIDAI has made changes in the provision of Aadhaar (Enrollment and Update) regarding updating of information. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the issuing body of Aadhaar numbers in India, last month urged people to update Aadhaar. UIDAI had urged that if it has been 10 years since a citizen got the Aadhaar number, then he must update his information. This will bring more transparency in all the information related to Aadhaar.
UIDAI has released the update facility
UIDAI has come up with a new facility for people to update their documents. UIDAI has launched the ‘Documents Update’ link on the Aadhaar portal. Citizens can access this facility through My Aadhaar Portal and My Aadhaar App. According to the information, citizens can also visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Center to update the information.
